Announcing Derek Benner to the Strategic Board of Advisors

Derek N. Benner is currently the managing director for federal law enforcement and commercial programs that span across Thomson Reuters Special Services, LLC. He previously served as the Executive Associate Director (EAD) for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

At Thomson Reuters Special Services his leadership and teams deliver a comprehensive suite of solutions designed to help organizations achieve mission objectives, deliver actionable intelligence, and identify and manage risk.

Derek joined TRSS following a 30-year career in federal law enforcement to include leading Homeland Security Investigations. This is an organization with more than 10,300 positions, which includes more than 7,100 special agents who are assigned to 30 Special Agent in Charge (SAC) offices in major cities, over 210 other field offices throughout the United States, and 80 overseas locations in 53 countries.  Derek also served as the Deputy Executive Associate Director, Assistant Director, and Special Agent In Charge of the San Diego Field Office.

Derek focused HSI resources and developed investigative programs focused on combatting trans-national criminal organizations, financial crimes, fraud and scams, and crimes against vulnerable populations to include human trafficking and crimes of exploitation.
